A cyber attack dubbed the “Flame” uncovered by Kaspersky Labs, being in operation since 2010. “The complexity and functionality of the newly discovered malicious program exceed those of all other cyber menaces known to date,” Kaspersky Labs said in statement announcing the malware’s discover.

This new threat appears not to cause physical damage, but to collect huge amounts of sensitive information, said Kaspersky’s chief malware expert Vitaly Kamluk. Kamluk added: “Once a system is infected, Flame begins a complex set of operations, including sniffing the network traffic, taking screenshots, recording audio conversations, intercepting the keyboard, and so on.”
