June 3rd, 2013 As Trial Date Set For Federal eBook Case Against Apple, Macmillan And Penguin

Reuters reports that US judge set June 3rd, 2013 as the trial date for a lawsuit against Apple and other publishers over fixing the price of electronic books. The suit is being brought by US DOJ who alleged that Apple and other publishers to increase the prices of ebook during the launch of the iPad.

There are huge major turf war going over on this from quite some time as earlier New York, the District of Columbia and fifteen other states have joined the e-book pricing class action suit against Apple, Macmillan and Penguin, bringing the total number of states involved so far to 31. The last amended complaint reveals details that were previously redacted, including an e-mail from Steve Jobs.
