Japan’s DoCoMo Acquires Guam’s Largest TV, Internet Provider MCV For $129.8 Million

Japan’s NTT DoCoMo today announced that it has wholly acquired MCV Guam Holding in a bid to increase its international expansion. MCV Guam Holding is the largest cable television and internet service provider in Guam. The acquisition costs NTT DoCoMo $129.8 million was made by a wholly owned holding company established by DoCoMo in Guam.

The acquisition now will enable DoCoMo Pacific, a subsidiary of DoCoMo and Guam’s largest mobile operator to offer MCV’s cable television, Internet and fixed-line phone services under its own brand as a one-stop quadruple play. DoCoMo mentioned the acquisition as a strategic one which will enhance its business in the region.
