IBM Cutting Its UK, Ireland Staff Despite Bigger Profits

Although IBM hit high last week with diluted earnings of $3.34 per share with net income was $3.9 billion, but what may even sounds surprising for the company people who are working in UK and Ireland is that the company is hooking up to fire its staff in the countries, reports The Register. The publication further says that employees of its UK-based IBM’s Strategic Outsourcing Delivery division will begin an employee consultation period starting from early August in one month.

An IBM spokesperson told The Register in an emailed statement:

“Change is constant in our industry and transformation is a permanent feature of our business model. Consequently, some level of workforce remix is an ongoing part of our business. Given the competitive nature of our business, we do not publicly discuss the details of our staffing plans.”
