Google Invests $200 Million In Texas Wind Farm, Power Over 60,000 Average U.S. Homes

While in late December, the whole world busy in wrapping up present for Christmas and a New Year, Google’s Treasury team bowed a renewable energy deal with making an investment of approximately $200 million in a wind farm in west Texas which will generates enough energy to power more than 60,000 average U.S. homes.

The project which is located in Oldham County, a wide open, windy section of the Texas located about 35 miles from Amarillo. The facility which constitutes a total of 161 megawatt facility was built by renewable energy developer EDF Renewable Energy. This Spinning Spur project has joined ten other renewable energy investments the company made since 2010.
