Google and retail business – thinks fine – but what if that retail business is offsite in nature – Yes, the offsite retail store.  The search engine may open its first stand alone retail store at its European headquarters in Dublin, a planning application noted by Bloomberg reveals.

The store would be the search engine giant’s first public retail store – last year on the same run, the company make its presence in UK based Currys and PC World stores in London selling the low priced internet only laptop/tablet hybrid Chromebooks in the store.

“While we do have the option to open retail space, we are examining all potential uses,” the Mountain View, California- based company said Bloomberg in an e-mailed statement. “No final decision has been taken.”

The Google Store would be open to the public and sell unspecified “Google merchandise” – since there is still no sigh of what the company is going to sell. Google’s Irish unit said in a local planning application. Located in Dublin’s Montevetro office block, the shop would include about 123 square meters (1,323 square feet) of space with an added mezzanine floor extension.
