Earlier we heard that Apple is working on iWatch – a smart watch which runs on iOS – and today we are getting another piece of confirmation suggesting that Apple’s rival Samsung also working on to develop a smart watch, the company’s VP confirmed in an interview to Bloomberg.

Samsung’s VP of Mobile Business Lee Young Hee suggested that Samsung is developing a wristwatch in lieu of creating a whole new wearable device which will work and perform the same way, the same tasks as smartphones do.

“We’ve been preparing the watch product for so long,” Lee Young Hee, executive vice president of Samsung’s mobile business, said during an interview in Seoul. “We are working very hard to get ready for it. We are preparing products for the future, and the watch is definitely one of them.”

Going in a similar way as that of Apple’s Lee did not disclose any of specific product information or launch dates, means it’s being tight-lipped over the project. Well, stay tuned with us and we will update you further soon.
