According to a mobile app marketing platform Fiksu App Store Competitive Index, there is a significant decline in iPhone app downloads reported for the month of February after holiday season spike. The firm measures the aggregate daily volume of the top 200 free US iPhone downloads while it saw 5.2 million daily downloads for the month of February as compared to 6.01 million in January.
Interestingly, along with this, the company also saw a decrease in app marketing cost which according to the firm dropped 17 percent to $1.29 for the month of February to $1.56 for the month prior. In short the numbers suggested clear and lour that the app download volumes on the App Store in January were even higher than the month prior. “On the heels of a record-shattering holiday season, February presented a more consistent ‘normalized’ and valuable landscape for mobile app marketers,” Fiksu CEO Micah Adler said.
