Facebook’s Joanna Shields Leaves, Building The Next Silicon Valley In London

British publication Telegraph reports that the social giant Facebook executive Joanna Shields has left the company in order to build the next Silicon Valley in London. Shields at Facebook was responsible for managing business in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. In UK she will be leading a brand new organization called the Tech City Investment Organization.

“There are not many opportunities where you know from day one you can contribute on a huge level,” said Shields. “I think London is an extraordinary city. This is the gateway to the world. It should not be a step-child to other cities. It should be in its rightful place as the centre for innovation in my world, the digital industries.”
