Facebook: Strong Growth High In Mobile Usage Rather Than PCs

The social giant Facebook in its 10-Q filing has revealed that the company expecting the mobile device as the fastest growing opportunity for it as the rate of growth in mobile usage, the company expected will “exceed the growth in usage through personal computers for the foreseeable future”. The filing says that that there were approximately 126 million mobile MAUs that accessed the website with the help of mobile apps or mobile website last month, which is an increase of 24% from 102 million compared to June 2012.

The social giant recently announced its third quarter results with the revenue totalling $1.26 billion, an increase of 32% compared with $954 million in the same period last year. The net income (loss) for the quarter was ($0.02), compared to $0.10 for the same quarter in the prior year. The quarter reported the costs and expenses of $885 million, an increase of 64% from the quarter a year ago while GAAP income from operation was $377 million, compared to $414 million for the same quarter a year ago.
