Facebook Starts Notifying DNSChanger Victims

The social giant announced that it’s Product Security Team working constantly to protect users from malicious content and malware. The team is currently working on making a mechanism that helps to protect your computer through malware via DNSChanger. This malware family operated as a botnet and has infected millions of computers by manipulating search results, displaying advertisements for fake or malicious products, and directing victims to malicious websites.

The company has just started posting alerts at the top of its search results page with text that says, The Web giant has just begun posting alerts at the top of its search results page with text that says, “Your computer appears to be infected.” Along with notification, Google provides users additional details on the malware. The user can visit the DNSChanger Working Group’s Detection Page, if they get the Facebook warning.
