The social giant announced that it has partnered with Rovi to bring more in-depth movie and TV content info to user profile, reports The Next Web. The duo agreed on to form a partnership in which Rovi’s database of movies, TV shows and celebrities will be seen into Facebook profile. Further the move will enhanced a whole new opportunity for application developers to utilize the entertainment data to be incorporated into their apps.
“The social interaction with movies, TV shows and video entertainment will be seen growing immensely over the next couple of years,” says Ime Archibong, Facebook’s manager of Platform Partnerships. To make this happen, Facebook partnered with Rovi to “help provide the backdrop that we need to enable developers to create a connected experience for consumers in their apps and services.”
