The social giant on Monday announced that it is re-opening applications for its Preferred Marketing Developer (PMD) program, bringing two changes on board: moving towards the referral-based system and PMD badges comes up with new requirements.

Here is how company sees the new changes:

Throughout the history of the PMD Program, we’ve learned that companies referred to us by a trusted, credible and informed source were much more likely to ultimately join the program as they had proven to be successful on our platform and with marketers.

Facebook also brings new requirements for its PMD badge which center on its four qualification areas, mainly Pages, Ads, Apps and Insights. The company believes that it will make the members and candidates to focus over “deeper integrations” across these and will welcome certain features like the News Feed, Open Graph insights, and Pages insights.
