The social giant today at the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco share some new numbers suggesting that the service hits with 250 million monthly gamers with showing some significant growth in the number of people playing social games and/or games on social networks.

Another interesting thing, Facebook shared that it will be launching a new Timeline section later this week, but it will be based and focused solely on video game. The company spokesperson said, “The game section will give people a way to express their favourite games on their timeline and About page, and will serve as another re-engagement and discovery channel for game developers.”

Digging more into numbers, currently more than 250 million people are playing games on Facebook.com every month, which is huge up from 235 million which was recorded last August. Another interesting fact comes into picture is that over half of the top 200 iOS games were integrated last month on the social giant.

Similarly the numbers also showed up that Games installation on Facebook.com has taken a deep higher effect with now 75 percent compared to March 2012. Counting all of them together, there are now around 200 games on the site, with over 1 million monthly active users on each. Seems, like with the numbers, Facebook next stop is going to be the kind-of gaming social network.
