Facebook Introduces New Open Graph Tags for Media Publishers, Allows To Highlight Their Pages And Authors’ Profiles In Shared Links

Facebook today announced that it now allows publishers to highlight their pages and authors’ profiles in shared link. The company has unveiled two new Open Graph tags which will help people follow their favorite media publishers and journalists in an easy manner. The company also added that it is also adding several new requirements which will make it easier for itself in reviewing people’s app and Open Graph submissions.

The update will work in the way as when the publisher tag is set, a “like” button for the publisher’s Facebook page will come into existence in the content preview as soon an article is shared. The same way the author tag will work and will display “follow” button in the preview which allows Facebook users to follow the author on the site.
