European Union All Set To Give Green Signal For Cisco $5 Billion NDS Deal

Back in March, we reported that Cisco in advance talks to purchase Israel-based NDS for $5 billion and now, European Union is set to approve Cisco over the purchase of NDS specializing in developing software for multi-channel television networks, reports Reuters. NDS is 51 percent owned by private equity fund Permira and 41 percent by News Corp. It maintains a large research and development centre in Jerusalem. The publication citing “person” as a source, that “At this point, the Commission has not expressed any serious concerns on any particular issues to the parties.” The acquisition comes after its $3.3 billion purchase of Norwegian conferencing company Tandberg in 2009.
