Although Euro 2012 hit too high, but there is more as the world has watched Europe’s best footballers and teams compete for cup and country together on Twitter. The micro-blogging giant has revealed that the European Championship football final between Span and Italy, broke its record not only with the game spirit but also after logging got 15,358 tweets per second at peak. Overall, the final match resulted in 16.5 million Tweets from fans around the world.

The graph is taken from Twitter’s Euro 2012 site and visualized how often people mentioned Europe’s top 16 national teams from the group stages through the final between Spain and Italy.
