Confirmed: Qualcomm Completing Second Half Of Its $120 Million Investment In Sharp By June 24

With we earlier reported that Qualcomm agreed on to make an investment of $120 million in Sharp, but after paying $60 million (half of total $120 million investment), the second half of investment got dazzled, but now the company has confirmed the second half of the payment and is now due to be completed by June 24.

This means that, Qualcomm will pay $60 million (6 billion yen) for 11,868,000 shares to Sharp which will give it a total stake of 3.53 percent in the company. The investment is straight in nature as it have both Qualcomm and Sharp on board through the alliance, and Qualcomm will work to combine its MEMs display technology with Sharp’s IGZO technology with which the duo will develop a range of new screens for devices of different sizes and types.
