Cisco Delivery To London Olympics 2012: By The Numbers

We are just days away from London Olympics 2012, but do you know that Cisco is the official network infrastructure supporter for games, means that Cisco’s network infrastructure will underpin the delivery of the voice, video and data traffic for London 2012 that will be carried over BT’s communications services network to the thousands of people o officiating, reporting, competing in or enjoying The Games.

The company is providing essential network infrastructure equipment which includes network security appliances, routing and switching equipment, wireless access points and controllers, IP telephony, handsets and the call manager system via our Hosted Unified Collaboration Service (HUCS from BT) that will support the Games time and administration applications on the LOCOG network.

Cisco’s Delivery to London 2012:

  • 30,000 connections across 94 locations
  • 2,200 switches
  • 1,800 wireless access points
  • 7,000 cable TV sockets
  • 16,500 telephones
  • 65,000 active network ports (active connections)
  • 40GB of data per second
