According to market research company IDC latest report, this year a drastic change will be seen in smartphone shipments, as China’s smartphone shipment percentage going to surpass those in that of the United States. China is expected to account for 26.5 percent of global smartphone shipments this year, while the United States stands at second position with an estimated 17.8 percent of the market. Back in 2011, the US and China accounted for 21.3 percent and 18.3 percent of the market. IDC analyst Wong Teck-Zhung said, “The PRC smartphone market will continue to be lifted by the sub-US$200 Android segment.”
