Report: China’s E-Commerce Market Rose To $190 Billion In 2012

According to a report by the China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC), China’s e-commerce market rose to 1.3 trillion RMB (about $190 billion) in 2012, an increase of 66.5 percent as compared to 2011’s total. The report titled “2012 China’s online shopping market research report” revealed that by the end of December 2012, the country having about 242 million internet users who use to do online shopping, an increase to 42.9%.

Counting on different figures, in the year 2012, online shoppers in China per capita annual net purchases consumption amounted to 5203 RMB (about $842), an increase of 25% when compared to year 2011. The annual online shopping market transaction accounted to 1.3 trillion RMB (about $190 billion), amounting for 6.1% of total retail sales of social consumer goods in the country with the credit goes to mobile users and social media.
