With earlier news winding up that the long heated iPad trademark dispute between the Cupertino-based Apple and Taiwanese company Proview set to settle soon, after a Chinese court revealed that it is working on to push the two companies to reach an agreement. But it seems today that the ball is moving in the court of Proview as according to the Associated Press today, Yan Xiaohong, deputy director of the National Copyright Administration, told reporters in Beijing that the Chinese government regards Shenzhen-based Proview as the rightful owner of the trademark for Apple’s tablets.
“The dispute between Apple and Shenzhen Proview concerning the iPad trademark is going through the judicial process,” Yan reportedly said in a news conference carried on the Internet, but added that according to the Chinese government’s law, Proview is “still the lawful representative and user of the trademark.”
