This is called as happening in real; the biggest mobile market in the world had crossed (via Engadget) the one billionth marks for subscriptions, according to China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT). The total mobile subscriptions in the country reached 1.006 billion in February, after increasing by 20.67 million during the first two months of the year. Of those mobile subscriptions, the number of 3G connections rose by 15.49 million to 143.92 million, which is nearly as much as the 154.96 million fixed broadband connections in the country. The growth in mobile appears to match the decline in landline connections, with mobile subscriptions growing by 2.9% and fixed phones dropping by 2.1% in the same period, to 284.3 million.
