China Mobile Is Aiming To Add 30 Million 3G Users This Year

The World’s biggest mobile carrier by subscriber, China Mobile has revealed that it is aiming to add 30 million 3G users this year and also expecting handsets subsidies for 2012 to total 20 billion yuan ($3.16 billion), which would be up 17.6 percent from last year.

Speaking at a press conference announcing its latest financial results, chief executive Li Yue confirmed that the telcom giant aims to add an ambitous 30 million new 3G customers over 2012, according to Reuters.

Based on Reuters calculation, China Mobile, which competed with smaller rivals China Unicom and China Telecom Corp, recorded a net profit of 33.9 billion yuan ($5.4 billion) for October-December period, compared with a 33.2 billion yuan market estimated by analysts.
