Breaking: RIM To Lay Off At Least 2,000 People Across Its Worldwide Operations

RIM, RIM, RIM – What to say? One after another, the company going through the pretty rough time – first BlackBerry 10 prototype announcement fails to make investors happy, followed by company sees an eight-year low, means stock closed at $11.09 and latest company’s global sales head Patrick Spence resigned after 14 years of service and now what more – citing “several people”, The Globe and Mail is reporting that BlackBerry maker is preparing for a major global restructuring which is going to start in next couple of weeks. The company is planning to lay-off at least 2,000 people across its worldwide operations. RIM is set to reveal its Q1 results on June 2nd, and we’ll be keeping a close eye on what CEO Thorsten Heins has to say when the time comes.
