If you are looking to use some great search engine optimization strategies, then you may have already been considering using commenting strategies. Commenting strategies are a great SEO strategy because it allows you to reach out to more people and open up the potential for backlinking. This is a great strategy, but there are certain blogs you want to avoid when you are looking to use commenting strategies as a SEO tactic. The whole purpose of this tactic is to make friends and get your site more traffic through search engines, so you want to be very careful where you are putting your comments and your reputation.

Avoid Controversy

When you are leaving comments on a blog, you are going to want to avoid as many controversial topics as possible. Usually you can see this type of controversy when it comes to political blogs or any blog topic that is touching on a sensitive subject. Remember, you are using this tactic to make friends and getting involved in a heated comment argument may end up not working against you. You want to gain support and show other bloggers that you are paying attention to them and that you are taking time on them, and that they should do the same for you. Getting in a heated fight not only makes enemies, but it also doesn’t speak very highly of your business.

Avoid Bad Content

You also want to avoid blogs that don’t have great content. Content is an important part of SEO, so you want to make sure that you are associating yourself with blogs that are providing solid content. If you are commenting on a silly blog that no one is reading and is so far behind in the Google rankings you couldn’t find it more than 100 pages in, than you are doing nothing more than wasting your time.

Stay Within Your Markets

You also want to avoid blogs that are outside of your market. If you are working a website that has to do with the rat killer i.e. pest industry, you want to make sure you are sticking with blogs that are within your markets. You don’t want to link your pest store to , an events for kids blog because that is not only going to make your business look bad, but you are trying to appeal to the wrong kind of market. You want to stick with blogs that your target market is going to be reading, anything outside of that element is a waste of time and a waste of SEO efforts.

Only Comment What You Know

You are going to also want to avoid blogs that you haven’t done the research on first. The whole purpose of commenting is to gain and establish relationships, so if you don’t have any knowledge on the blogs topic, then it is best that you stay away from that blog until you have done the research. If you are going into blogs and just typing whatever, then you are crossing the line and you are now spamming, which is going to hurt your SEO rating in the long run.

Be Committed

Finally, one of the last tips for using the commenting SEO strategy is to not waste your time on blogs that you can’t commit to. You don’t want to be a one nighter when it comes to blog commenting. You want to keep your comments to a minimum and you don’t want to over do it, but you want to be a regular contributor to the blog in order to establish the relationship. If you can’t commit to reading the blog, then its best to stay away or the commenting strategy may backfire in your face.

Commenting on blogs is a great way to connect with other people and establish new relationships with other businesses and people in your field. This is not only a great way to reach out to new target markets, but it is also an excellent way to create backlinks and take advantage of other SEO strategies. But if you are going to attempt commenting strategies, you have to be dedicated and you have to know which blogs to comment with and which blogs to avoid when carrying out blog commenting strategies. We have given you the bricks to lay the path to your commenting success, the rest is up to you.
