According to Bloomberg Businessweek, Apple’s planned ‘spaceship’ HQ will reportedly turning out to be a huge costlier as the budget of the proposed building now has jumped to $5 billion from $3 billion. The new cost will be turning out to costlier than that of the new World Trade Center and at least three times as expensive as top-of-the-line downtown towers.

Apple earlier had provided ATD with a statement: The Apple Campus 2 will be a new home for our company and an important part of the lives of more than 12,000 Apple employees. With that in mind, we have approached this project with the same care and attention to detail we pay when designing any Apple product. We look forward to moving the project forward with the city and beginning construction.
