With Apple reportedly going to have its big event, the iPhone 5 launch event next week, the Korea Economic Daily reports that the company has cut its orders for memory chips from Samsung for its next-generation iPhone. For Apple, Samsung has been a primary supplier of both DRAM and NAND storage for iPhones, iPads and iPhones. Other publication Reuters (via CNET) citing sources said Samsung remains on Apple’s list of iPhone initial suppliers but making the reduction with orders from other handset makers. The move makes Apple to choose Toshiba, Elpida Memory and Korea’s SK Hynix as its suppliers’ chain for the device.
