AllThingsD citing sources is reporting that the Cupertino-based giant has hired Amazon’s major executive and prominent search technologist William Stasior to head its Siri business unit. While working at Amazon, Stasior has been in charge of Amazon’s search and search advertising unit, A9. “A9 provides the core search service, as well as advertising services, and image recognition technologies to Amazon.com and other websites,” says Stasior. The MIT PhD had joined Amazon in 2003 as the company’s director of search and navigation. Prior to founding A9, he led product and engineering for the Search & Navigation team at Amazon. Seems like Apple hired the one which does command well its Siri unit to bring it to new heights.
