Apple Confirms European HQ Expansion, Will Hire 500 Staff

RTE News is reporting that Apple is planning to construct a three-storey office block next to its existing plant in the country, giving European HQ further widening in order to cater for the expansion of its business in Europe, the Middle East, India and Africa. Apple’s Senior Director for Corporate Communications Alan Hely has confirmed the publication that the company plans to increase its workforce in the city by 500 to 3,300 over the next 18 months.

Furthermore, the Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Richard Bruton, TD, today welcomed the confirmation by Apple that it is expanding its operations in Cork with the creation of 500 new jobs. Welcoming the news, IDA Ireland CEO, Barry O’Leary said “This development continues the strong trend of investment over the past years in Ireland, in particular from global ICT companies and demonstrates Ireland’s continuing success in attracting FDI additional investment.”
