With three companies already in the line-up of cutting jobs – HP firing some 275 employees from its webOS division, IBM sacking about 1,000 employees working in the company’s US division – gaming company Activision Blizzard cutting jobs of about 600 employees – adding a new on the same tone – America Online (AOL) plans to lay off as many as 50 employees at its AIM unit, best known for its Instant Messenger communication service.
