No matter how much we would like to banish the pain from our lives that is not possible yet. Pain is always waiting, whether it is a headache, toothache, wound or consequences of a disease. It is the truly one of the most horrible feeling we can get. Luckily today there are a variety of pills that can help us fight pain. Just imagine how it must have been to get a headache before the invention of painkillers. They had to deal with the pain without any help at all. Horrible, isn’t it? Did you know that around the world there is a large number of people with serious illnesses who are forced to live that way. Do you wonder why? That is because even today they do not have access to the pills that could ease their pain. As if it’s not bad enough to suffer from terrible diseases such as cancer or AIDS, but not having anything ease the pain caused by these diseases is simply horrible. Pain treatment is a fundamental human right that needs to be available to every person, no matter where they live. There are three key barriers preventing access to pain treatment governments and NGOs need to remove in order to provide effective pain treatment in all countries.
